An Urban Nest

Created by Hiroto Iwamura -Sleep in the gaps of the city- As you roam the streets of Tokyo at midnight, you'll often find people who sleep dexterously while getting drunk, sneaking into the little alleys and crevices of the city. Have you ever had a strange admiration for such a situation? In thinking about the concept of this room, Hiroto Iwamura, an artist who is also involved in architecture, thought that every gap in the city could be a place for people = a "nest". In this room, the space surrounding the loft-structured bed is made of concrete material that symbolizes the city, and street lights and iron pipes are practically treated. Starting from the space under the bed like a secret base, the stairs go around the room, to the bed, and then to the ceiling. Enjoy an abnormal night spent nesting in the gaps of the city in a space designed as if the city was cut out to the size of a room.
